Why This Exists
Uncertainty isn’t something I encountered late in my career.
It’s been a constant feature of my life.
I was born in India and moved to Canada as a child. Over the next decade, my family relocated repeatedly—new cities, new schools, new environments—long before I had the language for adaptation or decision-making under uncertainty.
Later, that same pattern showed up in different forms: changing countries, changing careers, operating in unfamiliar systems where waiting for clarity wasn’t an option.
Outside of work, I leaned into uncertainty more deliberately. Endurance sports and high-altitude climbing became a different kind of laboratory—places where preparation matters, conditions change, and judgment under fatigue carries consequences.
Those experiences reinforced something I’d already learned professionally:
Uncertainty doesn’t disappear with more effort, more data, or more confidence.
It has to be engaged with—deliberately and honestly.
Most leaders are taught to wait for certainty.
In reality, the skill that matters is learning how to build clarity when certainty isn’t available.
